Global Business Mobility Routes and the UK’s Global Business Mobility Visa

Eligible employment must need at least a certain degree of competence, and the applicant must get at least £42,400 annually or 100% of the prorated going rate for the occupation, whichever is higher. However, applicants won’t need to meet an English language requirement.

The applicant will be permitted for the period specified on their Certificate of Sponsorship plus an additional 14 days, five years, or the amount of time necessary to get them to the maximum period permitted under the Global Business Mobility route, whichever is shorter. If paying less than £73,900 per year, the maximum time allowed in the Global Business Mobility route will be five years in any 6 years or nine years in any ten years if paid £73,900 or more per year.

Holders of a Global Business Mobility – Senior or Specialist Worker Visa can perform the employment indicated on their Certificate of Sponsorship for their sponsor.

Trainee Graduate Visa

 

For foreign employees who want to be transferred to the UK by their company for a work placement there as part of a graduate training course leading to a senior managerial or specialty job, The current Intra-Company Graduate Trainee Visa will be phased out to new applicants on April 11, 2022, and will be replaced with this method.

Graduate Trainee Visa applicants

 

They must be employed by a company or organization associated with their UK sponsor through common ownership or control or through a joint venture on which they are sponsored to work. They must have worked for this company or organization outside of the UK for at least three months before their visa application date.

Additionally, candidates must possess a current Certificate of Sponsorship for the position they intend to hold, given by a company that has been granted permission by the Home Office to sponsor Graduate Trainees. In most situations, the applicant must be paid a salary that equals or surpasses £23,100 per year and 70% of the prorated going rate for the occupation, whichever is higher, and the work must be an eligible job at or above a minimum skill level. The going rate requirement will be 100% of the prorated going rate if the candidate is sponsored for a position in one of the health or education profession codes. However, applicants won’t need to meet an English language requirement.

The period specified on the Certificate of Sponsorship plus 14 days, one year from the start date of the job specified therein, or the date at which the applicant will have received cumulative permission in the Global Business Mobility routes and Intra-Company routes totaling five years in any 6-year period, whichever is shorter, will be the terms of the permission.

Holders of the Global Business Mobility – Graduate Trainee Visa can perform the job specified on their Certificate of Sponsorship for their employer.

UK Worker Expansion Visa

 

Senior managers and specialized personnel who seek to temporarily be transferred to the UK to work on projects connected to expanding a foreign business in the UK will be eligible for the UK Expansion Worker Visa. The Sole Representative of an Overseas Business Visa will be replaced by this route on April 11, 2022, when it will no longer be open to new applicants.

Expansion Worker Visa

 

Applicants for the UK Expansion Worker Visa must be employed by a company or organization connected to their UK sponsor through common ownership or control or through a joint venture on which they are sponsored to work. Unless they are a high earner earning £73,900 or more per year or they are a Japanese national seeking to establish a UK branch or subsidiary of the linked business or organization under the UK-Japan Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, they must have worked cumulatively for the linked business or organization for at least 12 months outside the UK.

Additionally, candidates must possess a current Certificate of Sponsorship for the position they intend to hold, given by a company that has been granted permission by the Home Office to sponsor a UK Expansion Worker. Eligible employment must need at least a certain degree of competence, and the applicant must get at least £42,400 annually or 100% of the prorated going rate for the occupation, whichever is higher. However, there would be no English language requirement for applicants.

The applicant will be permitted the shorter of the following periods: 1 year following the start date of the job specified in their Certificate of Sponsorship, the time specified on the Certificate of Sponsorship plus 14 days, the date on which they will have cumulative permission in the Global Business Mobility routes totaling five years in any 6 years or the date on which they will have had continuous permission as a UK Expansion Worker totaling two years, whichever comes first.

Holders of the Global Business Mobility – UK Expansion Worker Visa can perform the employment indicated on their Certificate of Sponsorship for their sponsor.

Visa for Seconded Workers

 

The Secondment Worker Visa will be available to foreign employees who want to relocate temporarily to the UK as part of a high-value contract or investment from their employer abroad. It is a fresh path for immigration.

Applicants seeking second worker visas must be employed by an overseas company with a contract with their UK sponsor and registered with the Home Office. They must also have worked outside of the UK for that overseas company for a total of at least 12 months. The category’s maximum time limit is five years in any six-year term.

Visa for Service Providers

 

The Service Supplier Visa will be available to foreign workers who need to come to the UK temporarily to perform services covered by one of the UK’s international trade commitments. These workers can be either contractual service suppliers employed by an overseas service provider or independent professionals who are self-employed and based abroad. The contractual service provider and independent professional provisions in the temporary work – international agreement route will be replaced by those in this route.

Applicants for visas must be actively employed by or for an overseas service provider that will perform services for their UK sponsor and has cumulatively worked outside the UK for the overseas service provider for 12 months.
